Well, I too got the Instinct and figured out the contacts issue. Then I learned that I could sync my Outlook “work” email (something Sprint Tech support didn’t tell me) with the addition of the Desktop Connector program. I was praying it would sync my calendar….NOT! This is extremely disappointing and shocking. To think the CEO’s of Sprint can’t use their newest, badest and over rated Instinct (non PDA phone) because it won’t sync with their calendar is amazing. I guess the Sprint CEO’s still use the TREO??? Any possible way they will uptdae the software to make this work? If not, I guess Sprint will be getting another Instinct back in their Inventory.

I am considering starting to design an interface by which the calendar would sync from outlook. There is a data file on the phone that contains the calendar data, I just need to translate outlooks data file into this one.

The real issue is transferring the file, which I have so far been unable to do. As soon as I figure this out, I will let everyone know. I am also taking 21 hours so it may take a little time.

Ordered 5 Insticts. Will be returning them. What rocket scientist at Sprint does not think people will not want to sync there calenders… DUMB!!!!

Hey David,

Curious to know what OLD modem you were using and of course which specific Cisco modem are you using now? I am running an old Moto 5100 I believe. It keeps me connected, but If I can get the most out of my connection with a newer modem, bring it on!!!

Hi,
A couple of people told me about Halo and I haven’t been able to stop! The ice cream is great! Small correction…if you buy 2 pints you get a 3rd free for $4.00!!! Also you can’t beat the price of eggs and milk either..but I’m mostly there for the ice cream…dig in!

I too got the instinct one day and found that it did not sync with my outlook calender and returned it the very next day. I was really lookin forward to getting the phone and it was a nice phone, however if it does not function the way I need it to function; its simply an expensive paper weight.

Update:
I just saw yesterday that he’s off to the the Jets. As a lifelong Packers fan, I feel saddened and a little betrayed. Now, I don’t know the whole story; he may have tried to go back to G.B., but to change teams like that so late in his “career”; ugh!

Personally, I think that he is really taking an unneccesary risk with his health.
