Luckily everyone was ok but we had an F1/F2 tornado hit my town and uprooted my 9 ft White Pine and killed my garden. Thank god it lasted only for 5 minutes but never in my life have I ever witnessed such high winds in my life before… Looks like the path of the Tornado put it practically right through my backyard. House is ok just a few shingles and things that can easily be replaced..
This tree was right down the street from my house..

Well the time has come to start my personal blog. Wikipedia defines the word blog, a place to provide commentary or news on a particular subject, such as food, politics, or local news; some function as more personal online diaries. For me this will be a place where I share my experiences with all of you on what is involved behind the scenes of running my website

I have a ham radio license and this past weekend was Field Day across the US where we all get on the air in a contest format (how many contacts can you make) but it’s more about emergency preparedness and not running off commercial power. As we were breaking down the site yesterday after 2pm, we had 2 tremendous storm cells come through about 1 or so hours apart. After the 1st one we were listening to NOAA radio and they were saying everything was coming up from the south which would put it right over you. They talked about high winds and small hail (we didn’t see any hail) but they didn’t mention tornados. Glad everyone is ok.
My parents live in FL and my in-laws in NC. They both deal with hurricanes each year. It’s scary stuff that mother nature.
Be careful with that chain saw
